This notice explains what we collect when you contact us or ask for a quote, why we need it and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
The Gift Boxes makes custom printed boxes for UK customers. We are responsible for the personal data described here.

What we collect from our forms
Our quote, contact and design forms ask for a small set of details. We only see what you choose to send.
- Your name and email address
- Your phone number, if you add it
- Box details, sizes, quantities and finishes
- Artwork, logos and images you upload
- Anything you write in the message box
Why we use your details
We use them to prepare your quote and free proof, to make and deliver your order, and to answer your questions.
The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, then carrying out that contract. Simple replies to questions rely on our legitimate interest in answering you.
How your form reaches us
Each form is sent by email to our team through an email delivery provider. The provider handles the message only to deliver it to us.
The site has no checkout and takes no payment online, so we never collect card details through it. We do not sell your details or pass them to anyone for marketing.
Analytics cookies
When the site launches publicly, it will use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. These are analytics cookies that show us which pages people visit and where a page is hard to use.
They do not tell us who you are. You can block or clear them in your browser settings, and the site still works without them.
How long we keep data
Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept only as long as we need them to follow up, then deleted.
Order records are kept as long as the law requires for business and tax purposes. Artwork is kept so repeat orders print the same, and we delete it if you ask.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Do you sell or share my details for marketing?
No. Your details are used only to quote, proof, make and deliver your boxes and to answer you.
Is the artwork I upload kept private?
Yes. Your files are seen only by the team and designers working on your boxes. We do not show your design anywhere else without your permission.
Does the website store payment card details?
No. There is no checkout and no online payment on the site, so no card details are taken through it.
Which analytics cookies does this site use?
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, added when the site launches. They measure how pages are used and do not identify you by name.
Can I ask you to delete my enquiry?
Yes. Email info@thegiftboxes.co.uk and we delete your enquiry and any uploaded files, unless we must keep an order record by law.
Will you add me to a mailing list?
No. We email you about your enquiry or order only, unless you ask to hear from us about something else.
How do I get a copy of the data you hold about me?
Email us and ask for a copy. We send it free of charge within one month.
Who can see the details I send through the quote form?
Our own team, plus the designers and print team who need your sizes and artwork to make the boxes.
Can I use the site with analytics cookies blocked?
Yes. Every page and form works the same with those cookies switched off in your browser.
Where can I complain about how my data is used?
Contact us first so we can try to fix it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
